Foxconn, Visteon, Sanmina-SCI, Nokia, Sanyo, Valeo, Phillips - just some of the leading electronics companies which are doing business in the Western-Hungarian electronics cluster, located west from Budapest.

Szekesfehervar

Szekesfehervar was the capital of the Hungarian Kingdom during medieval times. In 20th Century, the City became the capital of Hungarian electronics and mechanical engineering industries. The Videoton Corporation was one of the main TV manufacturer for the soviet block, employing 10,000+ people in Szekesfehervar. After the political transition in the late '80s, the city's large skilled labour pool, the excellent infrastructure and the nearness of Western markets attracted numerous foreign direct investors just like the IBM, Phillips, Visteon, Emerson Process Management etc. The Videoton Holding changed its strategy and became the 4th largest EMS (electronics manufacturing services) company in Europe and the 26th largest globally.
Szekesfehervar has 7 industrial parks.  Alba Industrial Zone is located beside the M7 motorway, and its 62 hectares provides full-scale infrastructure for electronics manufacturing companies.

The above mentioned Videoton also has an Industrial Park in the City. The brownfield facility hosts several international companies, among others, IBM and Sanmina SCI. Large scale brownfield manufacturing halls are available for rent.

Komarom

Komarom is located north from Szekesfehervar, south from the Slovakian electronics center Nitra Region, at the bank of Danube. The 88 hectare industrial park is in the midway of Budapest (87 kms) and Vienna (140 kms). International electronics companies like Nokia, Foxconn have chosen the town. The little town has 12,000 inhabitants only, but the excellent transportation to surrunding settlements supports the globally nr.1 manufacturing facility of NOKIA.
